We've shipped two small GM tools as free pages on this site. They're system-agnostic — nothing on them is tied to Children of New Rome — and we'd be glad to see them at any table.
[The Pressure Dashboard](/tools/pressure-dashboard). Most campaigns have three to seven slow-moving variables that the GM is half-tracking on a napkin: the cistern level, the patron's patience, the heresy rumour, how close winter is. The dashboard gives them names, drift rules, and thresholds, and at session-end it surfaces the lowest two as next session's weather — the things most likely to break first. Persists in your browser. Export/import as JSON.
[The Honest NPC generator](/tools/honest-npc). Six NPCs at a click, each with five fields: Name, One Detail, Wants, Lies, and Would Die For. The Lies field is the one we couldn't find in any other generator and the one our table uses most — every honest NPC is dishonest about exactly one thing, and writing it down before the scene starts changes how the scene runs. Names are drawn from period-appropriate community pools (Greek, Armenian, Arabic, Slavic) with sliders, but the structure works for any setting; rename the pools and you have a Regency court or a corporate office.
Both tools are deliberately small. They do one thing, they don't ask for an account, and they don't phone home. If you find them useful at a table that has nothing to do with our game, that's the point — the hobby is better when good prep tools are free and portable.
Find them under [GM TOOLS](/tools) in the site header. If something is broken or you want a feature, the contact link in the footer reaches us.
